Mediterranea Belfiore almost exclusively uses tomatoes that are bought from organically certified Tuscan farms, that are selected, controlled over time and dedicated to the company.
The qualitative selection of tomatoes begins in the same crop fields by choosing the most suitable soil, the best sun exposure and the best varieties. Tomato growers are also selected based on their latitude in order to ensure a constant flow of tomatoes with the same degree of ripeness.
Favouring the sweetness as the best characteristic for a ripe tomato, the harvesting and processing are done in as short a time as possible in order to preserve the natural fragrance of the fresh vegetables.
In addition to tomatoes, the pièce de rèsistance of the company, you will find: Morelli Toscani artichokes preserved in extra virgin olive oil, and scented creamy basil pesto, prepared according to our own family recipe.
In the fields around the farm, we grow some fresh herbs to use in our preserves. We also turn other vegetables like fennel, onions, aubergines, peppers, courgettes, etc. into pickles and spreads. Plus we produce several jams.
Our produce is exported not only to many European countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark and Scandinavian countries but also to Australia, Japan, the US and India.
